Blueprint 006: Corten + Corrugated Cabin

The Corten and Corrugated Cabin is a design-led concept for a modern garden annex. It’s a space created for immersive relaxation, guest accommodation, and quiet escape. The structure combines industrial materials with natural tones, using Corten steel cladding on the side elevations to introduce warmth and weathered texture. Over time, the Corten develops a protective patina, allowing it to settle naturally into its surroundings.

The pitched profile of the roof is rustic in character through its use of corrugated metal cladding. Both the front and rear elevations are wrapped in these textured sheets, giving the building an authentic, agricultural feel with a refined architectural edge.

Our cabins are designed for year-round living, and are always built to building regulation standards. As in this example, they can include services such as heating, hot water, and drainage. The interior finish is central to our cabin projects. In this concept, the highlight is the bathroom’s landscape window, framing countryside views from the bathtub. Meanwhile, the room includes contrasting textures with herringbone panelling that meets a neat mosaic tiled floor.

The open-plan interior layout combines a sleeping area, kitchen, and lounge — unified by earthy green walls and natural timber tones. The kitchen, with its curved breakfast bar and walnut cabinetry draws subtle inspiration from Art Deco design.

This concept reflects the Blueprint Spaces design and build approach. We pair strong architecture with thoughtful interior planning and robust material choices. Whether used as a holiday retreat, guest annex, or rental studio, this style of build proves how powerful material-led design can be in the landscape.
